All on the Draft 2GP hearings panel should be sage experienced Independent Commissioners – this is possible to achieve !!
█ All Councillors have direct (real and perceived) conflicts of interest where the Draft 2GP is concerned.
In the public interest, Dunedin City Council should be legally challenged on the selection process for, and the membership of the Draft 2GP hearings panel.
The Council has an exceptionally glowing reputation for fraud and corruption. It is very far from being squeaky clean – and now, an inappropriate relationship at Council is distorting democracy.

Green perceptions spark row

Claims a panel that will shape the future of Dunedin has been stacked with a “green tinge” have sparked a political row within the Dunedin City Council. The criticism came from Crs Andrew Whiley, Hilary Calvert and Lee Vandervis yesterday, as they attacked the makeup of the panel selected to hear public submissions on the second generation district plan (2GP). Their views have been blasted by other councillors, who accused them of failing to raise any objections during a council debate on the panel’s membership.

There must be independent commissioners to sit on the 2GP. There is one idiot that has been appointed who regularly sits on consents hearings. Ignores planners advice, and rides roughshod over
The People’s document, the district plan. Gives decisions that suit cronies.
Two of the appointed members to the 2GP hearings committee were on the Mosgiel Countdown hearing, and ruled that if you work for Countdown you will be treated like shit and not allowed to park on the public roads around Countdown like other normal people, and now they will have the responsibility to decide on the new district plan. God defend Dunedin.

Gurglars; I’m afraid the horse has bolted on this 2GP thing as it is ‘Agenda21’ writ large. This is due to the persistent ‘weasling’ of the ‘Greater Dunedin’ faction led by Dave Cull and Jinty MacTavish quietly but insidiously pushing the green anti fossil fuel pro sustainability agenda as espoused by the Rio statement of the ‘Agenda 21’ . We see it also in the University faction pushing the ‘Climate Change’ issue despite not putting forward a shred of empirical evidence in support of their claims. Worse, we have seen demonstrated just within the last week the bitter condemnation of any contra opinions being expressed. The ivory tower hypocrisy of these people remind one of the ‘Medieval Inquisition’ persecution of non believers. They sit there in their ‘tenured’ positions pontificating while all the time enjoying the benefits of ‘fossil fuels’. They overlook the benefits of the campus heating/air conditioning being energised by steam produced by burning oil and or coal in prodigious amounts. They arrive at their pre-approved parking spaces for their cars. They sit at their computers conveniently ignoring the fossil fuel content of those machines plus the plastic covering of the cables and fibre optics and the conduits enclosing them. They ignore, or fail to understand that the world’s food supplies are totally dependent on fossil fuels for fertilizers and pest control, not to mention the tilling of the soil, the planting and harvesting, the transport from farm to table. That’s just some of the aspects these ‘wannabes’, ‘do-gooders’ and ‘improvers’ want to shove down the population at large’s necks. There is no doubt in my mind that if this trend continues then by ‘default’ the citizens will wake up one day and find themselves back in the nineteenth century and freezing to boot. There is no will in that Civic Centre building to call a halt and rethink of where we are heading.
The dumbing down of the population is certainly working at DCC central.
