Bus fire on Highgate

This afternoon……
cruise ship passengers got more than they bargained for from Ritchies.

Yep, time to upgrade the smartphone. Will check video footage.

Third photo from the top, note the bus driver has returned to the cab after passengers have evacuated.

We are letting our infrastructure fall apart.

Less of the “we” please :-)

The people we voted for and the people they gave the jobs to, and pay lavishly out of our rates, have let infrastructure turn into infra-self-destruction because they chose to spend their resources on every-dumb-thing ahead of what they are there to do.

We voted wrong? Hindsight, sure. But do you remember anyone campaigning on “I am determined to waste the city’s money and ensure it is flat broke asap”? Or were they all promising to act in the city’s interests (not their own and their bestie mates’)?

When you Google bus fires in New Zealand there seem to be a lot of them. Why! Older, badly maintained fleet vehicles ?

An electrical fire started in the engine bay at the rear of the bus.
