Before Christmas, Aurora Energy identified and checked the condition of poles in what were considered high-traffic holiday areas, such as camping grounds and parks in Upper Clutha. The company consulted the Queenstown Lakes District Council to identify the high traffic areas.

Let’s pay more pole checkers!
Whatever we do, do not replace dodgy poles, just record them.
In that way we can say we knew, we would replace and it’s just a little unlucky this/these persons were killed before we could get to them. I mean who would expect one person (the CEO) to replace 3000 dodgy poles over the Christmas holiday break when kiwis don’t work.

ODT: Parapenter crashes into power lines
A parapenter sustained moderate injuries after crashing into power lines near Coronet Peak skifield this afternoon. Emergency services were deployed about 3.30pm after the man landed in powerlines about 400m below the skifield car park, cutting power to the skifield. St John confirmed the man, in his late 20s or early 30s, sustained moderate to serious electrical burns. Cont/
