Oh so so true. Brings back memories of Cr Stevenson and Cr Butcher. Brings back that maxim perpetuated by Charles Darwin when he said, ” Ignorance begets confidence more frequently than does knowledge.” In other words stupid people enjoy the luxury of not knowing they are stupid (because they are stupid) and in consequence their confidence is never undermined. Conversely people with talent (when they make a mistake) have the wit to know that they have perhaps been foolish and their confidence is undermined. That is why (opined Darwin) we have stupid people as leaders and talented people languishing in secondary and tertiary positions.
