      Tweet:

      @ForBarrStadium 7500 thousand approx people already through the gates

      That was early this afternoon (see typo in tweet, we assume 7,500 prople through at that stage), wonder what the total visitor number for the day was?

      {Note: ODT news story (Monday 21/6/10) reports 8,000 through the stadium site by end of the Open Day. – Eds}

        Looking to the future
        Dunedin Venues Management Ltd marketing and communications manager Jo Scully said nearly 8,000 people turned out to get a closer view of the stadium’s progress, which is halfway through construction.
        A small entry fee meant Rotary International raised more than $10,000 for its PolioPlus campaign.

    That is a grand result for Rotary International. Shame about the twitter that said “… 7500 thousand …” had turned up.

    {A note has been added to the previous comment/tweet on numbers. It appears 7,500 was intended in the stadium/DVML’s tweet. A total of 8,000 was achieved for the whole day! Excellent. – Eds}

      See photographs of the new stadium published by Wellington’s UglyBob at the skyscrapercity website (page 26), following his visit to Dunedin for the All Blacks v Wales test.

      skyscrapercity features 27 pages in total on the ‘DUNEDIN | FORSYTH BARR STADIUM + Sports’ thread – have a look around.
