Opinion: Your Say: The Feudal manor of Dunedin

Feudalism is alive and flourishing in Dunedin. I guess that all over the world crucial differences persist between the wealthy, powerful, high status, and largely self-appointed elite and the much poorer, powerless, low status, and struggling underdogs. In its more extreme form, this poisonous social system is usually hidden behind a screen of euphemisms and political spin, but sometimes the screen is breached, and we see it in all its naked ugliness. We see it here and now in Dunedin. “Cough up, you peasants, pay your feudal dues! Your Lord and Masters require a fine new stadium.”
